2007-2008

SATURDAY SOCCER CLUB

Brandon Lads & Lasses try to introduce younger children of both sexes to the sport of football
through a Saturday club which is based on basic ball skills mixed with lots of fun.

The Saturday Soccer club was formed back in 2003 and has become a very popular part of club. With around 20 children attending regularly, we have seen many new teams develop and grow from this early start.
We have two Saturday clubs, one is for year 1 children (either boys or girls) based at Forest Community Primary School and another club which is just for our girl players based at the playing fields here at Brandon

Brandon Lads & Lasses try to keep the running costs of this club as low as possible, so to join and become a member of our club the cost is just £20 for the whole year, this covers training equipment, coaching course costs and other sundry items.
The training sessions are an hour long and are conducted by one of our FA qualified coaches.

Last year we saw Mark O'Malley & Steve Bales take on the role of coaches for the year 1 mixed children, Mark & Steve will continue to coach this set of players as they now become year 2 (Under 7) players. Also Mark went on to train and qualify as a FA Level 1 coach.

This season we will look to start the new year 1 club sometime in September/October, when the children get back to school. We will send out information to all the local schools when and where we  will start along with posting this information here on our web site.
" BRANDON LADS & LASSES ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN RUNNING THIS YEARS SATURDAY SOCCER YEAR 1 CLUB"
If you have a child who wishes to join our new Saturday Year 1 Soccer Club and you would like to help out with the training sessions, then please get in touch with a club committee member. or send an e mail through this link [Kevin Briston] .
