Brandon Lasses under
8's travelled to Copleston SC for a very closely
contended match. The Lasses started brightly and
took the lead in the first minutes through
Ellisse Masters. Brandon took the game to
Copleston but found themselves against a very
good home defence. As the half went on Copleston
started to break and they scored two goals
before half-time to give them the lead at the
break.2-1
Brandon started
brightly again for the second half with
Lucy Paige battling well in mid-field and it
wasn't long before Bethany Field broke
free to equalise. Both sides were creating
chance but it was the Lasses who regained the
lead through Charley Curtis. Just as it
was looking as if Brandon would hold on for the
points Copleston broke and scored a deserved
equaliser. f/t 3-3
This was the third
match between these sides this season and credit
must go to both sets of players who really
starting to develop their football well!

Brandon were comprehensively beaten with a
disappointing display. Brandon failed to gel
despite recent promise. Seven goals by half
time virtually killed the game. Brandon
rallied in the second half and only let in
two and also had chances of their own.
Sophie Walker, Molly Wilson, and Shannon
Odebrecht all giving 110% but to no avail.
An excellent performance from Mimi Nolan the
Brandon player of the match. Herons proved
too strong in every position.

Brandon
Lasses visited Copleston for the first of two
meetings in so many weeks. Always a close contest
the final score did not do justice to Brandon's
overall greater share of the possession. The first
half was scrappy with neither team really
dominating. Brandon did let two goals through in the
first half due to an inability to get the ball
clear. Brandon did up their game in the second half
but could not find a way through, usually snuffed
out by shear numbers. A credit to the Copleston
defence. Copleston were forced to hit on the break,
their third goal worthy of note, a free kick just
outside the box, hit sweetly into the top corner of
the net. Harsh on Brandon for such a hard working
but fruitless display, on a bright but cold
afternoon.

Brandon Lasses
visited Waveney Girls for the first of 2
meetings in subsequent weeks. If this game was
anything to go by then Brandon will relish the
return next week. Although eventually going down
3-0 with two first half goals and one in the
second, Brandon had one of their better team
performances of the season.
Strikes from Shannon
Odebrecht and Molly Wilson both hit the woodwork
in each half. Sophie Walker also hit the bar
(England 66 world cup style) but the goal was
not given. No Russian linesman on this occasion.
Harsh on Brandon for
such an excellent display on a bright but cold
afternoon.
Roll on Sunday,
before the girls stop for the a well earned xmas
break.

Brandon Lasses turned out in their new kit courtesy
of Aztec Electrical. It spurned them on to their best
performance of the season against a strong Waveney
girls side. The game ebbed and flowed with few
chances at either end. The first goal ultimately
came from a break down the left and then a quick
throw in which took the home side by surprise. Molly
Loving had the best chance for Brandon but ran into
a brick wall under a challenge from the Waveney
keeper and a defender simultaneously. The second
half continued as the first had left off. Waveney
got their second from an excellent drive from the
six yard box. An excellent performance by Jade Whybrow
in goal kept Waveney at bay as she continues to
improve in leaps and bounds.Molly Wilson in midfield
made an excellent debut and Bianca Whitbred had an
excellent day as captain. The whole Brandon team
continue to improve and every game sees them closer
to securing some points.
