On Friday 23rd March, in very blustery, cold and wet conditions around 60 primary school girls in school years 3 & 4, took part in a Brandon Lasses & Forest Heath District council Sports Partnership event at the playing fields at Brandon.
6 teams took part, coming from 4 local schools, Lakenheath, Elveden, Brandon Forest & Brandon Glade. Each school had received 7 hours of coaching.
Each team played each other in a round robin type structure, with all girls present taking to the field at some point.
The winning team came out as Brandon Forest team 2

With the runners-up coming from Brandon Glade

The tournaments fair play award went to the mixed team from Elveden & Forest

All the girls who took part received a medal along with a trophy for the winning and second place teams, the winners of the fair play award each received a calendar from the England Ladies team.
A big thank you goes to Roger field for his continued hard work with the development of girls football, along with a big thanks to Jay Morris who is the School Sports Co-ordinator for Forest Heath District Council. Thank you also to Mark and Steve for their refereeing on the day.
We also must thank the Norwich & Peterborough Building Society for their sponsorship of all the medals and trophies supplied on the day, and also to Palmer & Harvey for their donation of refreshments for every girl taking part.
