On Friday 23rd March, in
very blustery, cold and wet conditions around 60 primary school girls in
school years 3 & 4, took part in a Brandon Lasses & Forest Heath
District council Sports Partnership event at the
playing fields at Brandon.
6 teams took part, coming from 4 local schools, Lakenheath, Elveden,
Brandon Forest & Brandon Glade. Each school had received 7 hours of
coaching.
Each team played each other in a round robin type structure, with all
girls present taking to the field at some point.
The winning team came out as Brandon Forest team 2

The tournaments fair play award went to the mixed team from Elveden &
Forest
All the girls who took part received a medal along with a trophy for the
winning and second place teams, the winners of the fair play award each
received a calendar from the England Ladies team.
A big thank you goes to Roger field for his continued hard work with the
development of girls football, along with a big thanks to Jay Morris who
is the School Sports Co-ordinator for Forest Heath District Council.
Thank you also to Mark and Steve for their refereeing on the day.
We also must thank the Norwich & Peterborough Building Society for their
sponsorship of all the medals and trophies supplied on the day, and also
to Palmer & Harvey for their donation of refreshments for every girl
taking part.
