Moreton
Hall 'A' 1 Brandon Lads 1
Brandon needed a win or draw to take the league
title today. With Moreton Hall 'A' just four
points behind and with a game to play,
Brandon started a little rushed and nervous.
Chances fell at both ends in an even, competitive
battle. Tymal Mills was played through for a one
on one with Halls keeper, the keeper diving
bravely at his feet to keep things even. On
form, Sean Dyer, broke the deadlock with a great
chip over the keeper, having missed easier early
efforts. Jordan Campell kept Brandon ahead with
a great dive to his left, Brandon going in 1 - 0
up at half time. Moreton Hall played some great
football after the break, eventually equalizing
after a high ball forward beat Campbell with the
bounce. Some strong challenges were going in,
with both teams having all to play for. The game
became scrappy and bad tempered towards the end,
a shame after the good football played by both
sides. Brandon had chances to go ahead again,
Sam Molyneux just wide with his left, Dyer again
on target, but all was to stay even. This draw
handed Brandon Lads a deserved League Winners
trophy, Moreton Hall A finishing in 2nd place
for promotion too. A strong challenge deep into
injury time left a Hall player with a nasty
injury, all at Brandon Lads wish him a speedy
recovery.

Lads 5 Abbeygate Youth 1
The
Lads were looking for a good home win to edge
closer to the league title, excellent passing
and pressure from Brandon resulted in an early
Sean Dyer goal. A long throw from Tymal Mills
was headed in by Sean from close range. Mills
threatened the goal himself before Jamie
Gristock saw his effort go wide. Brandon
continued pushing forward, Dyer chipping the
keeper for 2 - 0 before securing his hatrick
with his head, after another fine Mills throw.
Abbeygate took a well struck goal before the
break for 3 - 1 . The match was concluded with
Danny Weekes and Jordan Fisher both hitting the
target with style for 5 - 1. Excellent
performances from Liam Conroy, Joe Brookes,
Jordan Baynes and George Winstone. Man of the
match ; Sean Dyer (superb hatrick)

Brandon
started brightly with a make-shift team, scoring
within 5 mins a cross from S.Dyer turned in for
a tap-in by T.Mills. Brandon settled down and
were 2 up in 10 mins when D.Weekes scored a
cracking chip over the advancing Moreton keeper.
The lads then went 3 up with a far post
header from captain Mills, who played the whole
game despite being ill.
Brandon were coasting when a mix-up
between Baynes & Gristock gifted Moreton a
lifeline. The lads went in at half-time 3-1 up.
The second half was backs to the wall as Moreton
sensed their chance to come back into the game.
however excellent defending by Bullen, Baynes
& Brookes kept them at bay for 20 mins.
Moreton then pulled it back to 3-2 after another
fine run by Moreton's centre forward. The last
10 mins saw keeper Campbell pull off two
great stops when a Moreton player was 1 on 1.
Brandon then shored the midfield up with
Winstone & Dyer working really hard and
Hinsley filling in for Brookes who had to go off
injured. Day & Bullock also had strong games
for Brandon when called upon. Moreton hit the
bar in the last minute but fortunately the ball
bounced into the hands of keeper Campbell. Final
score Brandon 3 Moreton 2 Man of the match

Brandon had an excellent start, Lewis King
put in a low corner which was deflected in off a
Stow defender for 1 - 0. Danny Weekes made it 2
- 0 for 'The Lads' with a fine strike, after
cheekily shaping up for a cross. Brandon
extended their lead within 20 minutes through a
superb Jamie Gristock top corner free kick. Sean
Dyer came close twice before the break, yet it
was second half before Brandon hit a killer
fourth goal. Good work from Liam Conroy and
Tymal Mills provided the chance for Jordan
Fisher to strike a low drive towards goal. The
Stow keeper was down well, yet saw a bobble take
the ball over him for 4 - 0. Excellent defending
from Joe Brookes, Ryan Santer and Jordan Baynes
meant Stow were kept well away from a safe
Jordan Campbell in goal. Special mention for
injured sweeper, Josh Day, who had a great
game through the pain. Some superb passing and
movement from Liam Conroy won him 'Man of the
match' in a solid Brandon win.

Lads 3 Moreton
Hall ‘B’ 3
Brandon started slowly, caught on the back foot
by a lively Moreton Hall. The Lads broke
from defence though, the ball played over for
Sean Dyer to finish with style. Some poor
Brandon defending saw Hall draw level from a
corner kick, before Dyer struck a 20 yard volley
for 2 - 1. Brandon started to settle, going 3 -
1 up from a superb individual goal for a Dyer
hatrick. After the break 'The Lads' just
couldn't increase on their lead. Weekes and
Hinsley were working well on the wings, yet
nothing was coming off for Molyneux and Mills up
front. Jamie Gristock was excellent, taking
charge of the midfield, yet too often alone in
his desire to be a winner. Moreton Hall
continued to battle, rewarded late on by a
superb overhead kick which looped over the
Brandon keeper for 3 - 2. Brandon still looked
like taking all 3 points though, until a
last minute foul was awarded a penalty.
Hall's striker hit a superb spot kick, beating
an unfortunate Matt Bullock in the Brandon goal.
Final score 3 - 3, Man of the match - Sean Dyer,
for his 1st half hatrick.

Haverbury
Youth 0 Brandon
Lads 7
Top
of the league, Brandon Lads, started confidently
against a spirited Haverbury. Keeper, Jordan
Campbell set up the first with a superb goal
kick. The ball bounced well into the opposition
half for Sean Dyer to latch onto with a fine
strike. Tymal Mills went one on one with
Haverburys' keeper to fire in for 2-0. Dyer
turned provider next, a neat pass for Sam
Molyneux to turn and score with style. Molyneux
quickly scored again, a lovely chip over the
keeper from outside the area. Mills made it five
before half time, an unstoppable hit after
some fine Brandon passing. Kyle Green played his
first full game at the back, strong in defence alongside
an experienced Tom Bullen and Josh Day.
After some changes Brandon took a while to
score, Joe Brookes playing a great ball for Dan
Weekes to drive through, hitting a powerful
strike for six. Finally, after heavy pressure
Brandon made it seven. Haverbury tried to clear
from a corner; Niall Warne was edge of the area
to superbly chip the ball back over the
keeper and into the net. Haverbury played some
good passing football at times and were unlucky
not to get a consolation goal near the end. The
Lads could have scored a dozen, let down by a
lack of passing around the box second half,
overall a decent performance.

Lads 2 Moreton
Hall 'A' 1
The Lads started well in this gripping Quarter
Final, coming close early on and forcing a run
of wasted corners. Sean Dyer was first to get a
quality clean strike at goal. With the Moreton
Hall keeper only able to push away his shot,
George Winstone struck to fire home for an
early lead. Brandon should have taken full
control, playing some great football. Tymal
Mills headed over, Liam Hinsley shot wide and
Dan Weekes came close before Brandon were caught
on the break. The Hall forward outpaced an
otherwise superb Jordan Baynes, beating an
advancing Jordan Campbell with a 20 yard
effort. Hall rallied after half time
and had early play before Brandon came
again. The Lads put in a fine last twenty
minutes, coming close through Sam Molyneux, Dyer
and Jamie Gristock. Eventually, with ten mins to
go, a great Mills throw was cleared to an
advancing Gristock. Jamie hit a sweet strike to
beat the keeper for a 2 - 1 Brandon win. Good
games for Josh Day, Joe Brookes and Ryan Santer
(when he came on) man of the match though to
George Winstone. The Lads now look forward to
the semi's in mid March.

Lads 5 Felixstowe Spartans 2
Brandon showed their intention with early
pressure on Spartans goal. Sam Molyneux hit a
terrific overhead kick, beating the keeper, yet
seeing it just roll down the outside of the net.
After a goalmouth scramble Sean Dyer did
eventually force Brandon’s first, the
ball going in off a defender for 1 - 0. The
Lads played some superb football and went two up
when Molyneux battled to win the ball and slid
it to Dan Weekes. After a superb run Weekes
hit a powerful finish. Tom Bullen, Ryan Santer
and Josh Day had good starts at the back,
dealing with any threat efficiently. Brandon
scored again when Jamie Gristock played to
Jordan Baynes, chipping the defence Baynes hit
the perfect pass for Tymal Mills to run onto and
fire home in style.
Second half Brandon made some changes and were
more evenly matched early on. Breaking down the
right though, Weekes hit another great shot.
This caught Spartans keeper off balance,
with both ball and keeper crossing the line for
4 - 0. Dyer put Brandon further ahead with a
brilliant chip from 25 yards out before Spartans
replied. A fine free kick was initially saved by
Campbell, but fell to Spartans for a
tap in. Brandon had chances to score more, yet
it was Spartans who hit a last
minute goal for a final score of 5 - 2.
A fine performance overall and an
eighth successive league win for 'The
Lads'.

Lads 1 Mildenhall Utd 2
A tight game with plenty of passion saw Brandon
start the stronger. The lads had good
possession, yet failed to really test the
Mildenhall keeper enough. Tymal Mills was threatening
coming from midfield, though chances were
limited by a strong Mildenhall defence. Slow
reactions in The Lads defence saw Utd take the
lead with an awesome strike. Brandon battled to
pull one back and were unlucky to go further
behind through a poorly defended Mildenhall
corner. Both were unstoppable efforts for the
keeper, Jordan Campbell, who had a
superb match. Two goals down at half time,
Brandon were still confident of getting back in
the game. Some safe goalkeeping kept 'The Lads'
out, until a great Mills long throw beat Utd's
defence to be slotted in by Sam Molyneux for 2 -
1. Brandon dominated the last ten minutes,
pushing for 2 - 2 and extra time, but it wasn't
to be. A well-fought match, with credit to both
teams for the effort and sportsmanship
shown.

Lads 2 Felixstowe Spartans 1 (Vase
Competition)
A lively start saw chances at both ends, Brandon
coming close through Dyer and Mills before
Spartans broke through twice with just Jordan
Campbell to beat in 'The Lads' goal. Campbell
stood tall, doing enough to see both strikes
fired wide. This bit of luck inspired Brandon,
Joe Brookes and Dan Weekes working well with
Jamie Gristock and George Winstone having a
solid start in the middle. The Lads took the
lead after a superb cross from Weekes was headed
home by Tymal Mills from close range. Spartans
hit a fine equaliser before half time, Weekes
and Santer both unable to clear the danger.
In a gripping second half Brandon pushed for
goals. Sam Molyneux beat the keeper from a tight
angle, unlucky to strike the post and see the
Spartans keeper push his next effort onto the
same upright. Jamie Gristock twisted and weaved
through to surely score, yet again the keeper
saved well. Despite Brandon's' pressure the game
could have gone Spartans way with some good
breaking. Matt Bullock was solid though in goal,
making his debut for Brandon. Jordan Baynes and
Tom Bullen were consistent with quality in
defence, allowing Josh Day time on the right
wing to show his strengths. With ten minutes to
go Sean Dyer scored a cheeky winner, after
steady pressure a curling cross was back headed
over the Spartans keeper and just under the bar
for 2 - 1. A good game of football with good
sportsmanship from a hard working Spartans.
Brandon will face Bury Town or Moreton Hall A at
home in the Quarter finals on Jan 22nd.

Youth 1 Brandon Lads 3
A
slow start for Brandon, with some poor finishing
from both sides meaning no goals early
on. The Lads took the lead eventually though,
when Sam Molyneux used a cheeky back heel to
play Sean Dyer in, Ryan Santer flew in from the
left to give another option, hitting a superb
shot for 1 - 0. Joe Brookes, Tom Bullen and
Jordan Baynes were busy at the back, yet equal
to all Abbeygate threw at them. Tymal Mills came
close to a second for Brandon before the break,
firing just over the bar. Other chances were
missed, with Brandon not finding the finishes of
previous weeks. Early second half Santer settled
the team with a cool second goal , Jamie
Gristock won a crunch tackle to feed through to
Dyer, Sean again turning provider to play
Santer in. With Brandon pushing for a third
Abbeygate hit a fine reply, after quality
passing the forward struck a low drive just
inside the post, giving a faultless Jordan
Campbell no chance in goal. Liam Hinsley and
Niall Warne had chances to score, yet the
final goal was a cracker from Gristock. Jamie
pounced on an Abbeygate clearance, saw the
keeper well out and chipped in a well struck
killer goal

Brandon Lads 7
Walsham 1
Probably the best team performance of the season
from Brandon Lads u14s. First Dan Weekes took a
long throw, headed on by Tymal Mills, for Sean
Dyer to blast home. Walsham were level within 5
mins from an awesome strike that gave
Jordan Campbell no chance in goal. Sam Molyneux
tore down the left, putting in a great cross for
Matt Barnes to slide the ball in for 2 - 1. Dyer
scored the 3rd, a cheeky back header squeezed
inside the post from a Brandon corner. Mills
came forward to direct a powerful header in for
4 - 1 at the break. The back three of Jordan
Baynes, Tom Bullen and Joe Brookes were just
unbeatable for 'The Lads', coming forward when
safe to work with the midfield. Weekes, Jamie
Gristock and Liam Hinsley were at the top of
their games across midfield and won the majority
of tackles. Niall Warn and Kyle Green both came
on as subs and fitted in well, Kyle unlucky not
to be on the score sheet. Brandon effectively
finished the game off with two fine goals from
Sam Molyneux, the first after a neat touch on
from Dyer, the second a good solo strike. Going
through for a hatrick, Molyneux opted
to slide the ball infront of Tymal Mills
who hammered in for a 7th Brandon goal. On this
form Brandon should be looking to win the league
and are currently in top spot.

Walsham 1
Brandon Lads 3
Walsham
started the more lively team with good passing
and well directed balls over the top causing
Brandon problems. The Lads didn't seem
quite awake and struggled to get to grips until
Walsham took a deserved lead. This
inspired more Brandon spirit with Sam Molyneux
winning the ball on the edge of Walsham's
box to feed through for Tymal Mills to hit
an unstoppable equaliser. Brandon took the
lead, against the run of play, with a superb
solo effort from Dan Weekes. Taking on the
defence, Dan shaped to pass, turned and buried
the ball bottom corner. Jordan Campbell
had to make a great save with his feet to
keep Brandon ahead, with Day, Santer and Baynes
having to run hard in defence to keep Walsham at
bay. Brandon team play improved second
half with Gristock and Hinsley strong in
midfield, Niall Warne and Joe Brookes superb on
the wings. Sean Dyer worked tirelessly up
front, setting up the final goal, yet being
unlucky not to score himself. A long Mills
throw, nodded on by Dyer, was passed calmly
into the Walsham net by Molyneux for 3 - 1.
Although this finished the contest, Walsham
battled to the finish and were a credit to their
Manager. Man
of the match; Sean Dyer.

Holbrook Hornets
0 Brandon Lads 3
Brandon put in their worst performance
of the season by far in a frustrating game of
poor passing and movement due in part to them
having to field an under strength team, yet had
no excuses for the lack of formation and passing shown.
With the wind and sun in the lads' faces in the first
half Brandon had an unsettled start. Holbrook
looked the more likely to score, although Joe
Brookes hit a fine shot just over for Brandon.
Chances fell for Kyle Green and Sean Dyer but
they went begging.
Dan Weekes broke the deadlock early in the
second half with a superb strike, before forcing
a second past the keeper after a superb Niall
Warn cross. Brandon continued to miss chance
after chance before Gearge Winstone broke
through after a quality run to set up Tymal
Mills for the final goal of the game. Poor team
play from Brandon, the three points being the
only positives of the match. Man of the

Brandon were looking to build on last

superb football before laying on for Mills to
make it three. Liam Hinsley was in fine form on
the left, rewarded by a superb goal and just
missing a second. Brandon looked well in
control, Dan Weekes firing in a great free kick
for Sam Molyneux to chip in past the keeper.
Holbrook continued to battle and hit a well
deserved long range goal past an otherwise comfortable
J. Campbell.
Holbrook fought well early in the second half,
but Mills finished the match off, bursting
through with two powerful runs and strikes.
George Winstone made it 8 - 1 with a fine top

Ryan Santer at the back. Chances came at
both ends, yet Brandon broke the deadlock before
half time with another fine goal from Sean Dyer.
Still finely balanced, the first goal after
the break was crucial for both sides. After just
five minutes and a good team move, Sam Molyneux
turned on the ball and passed it under an
unlucky Moreton Hall keeper for 2 - 0. Hall were
unlucky not to be awarded a penalty later on,
but it was the Brandon midfield of Dan Weekes,
Jamie Gristock, Tom Bullen, George Winstone and
Matt Barnes that took control. Tymal Mills burst
through, hitting a powerful shot which was well
saved, only to fall for the advancing Molyneux
to strike home for 3 - 0. Further chances came

then quickly took the lead, with the
Brandon players guilty of dropping

Brandon knew they needed to pull together for

A great start to the new season, with Brandon

were solid and alert throughout. Brandon grew in
confidence and went 4-0 up with a great distance
shot from Jamie Gristock. Mills scored two
powerful goals, the second headed in after a
great Weekes run and cross. Danny then scored
two himself, the second a well placed strike
