Brandon Lads 3
Walpole 0 -
Brandon started this game knowing little about their
opponents, but it soon turned out to be a very tight game.
Joe put in some early challenges on the right and the
defence looked in control of everything that was thrown at
them.
At half time with the score at 0-0 Brandon really didn't
know which way the game was going to go, but thinking that
one goal would be enough the second half started in much
the same way as the first. Brandon won a free kick
25 yards from goal which Greeny hit at the keeper who
then fumbled and Chas came in and struck a superb
swerving shot into the top left hand corner. This
goal seemed to settle the team who went on to score to two
more goals, one from Preston after a dummy (we think)
from Greeny and a penalty from Greeny. The whole
team, including the management deserves praise for a
season that has grown as it has progressed. Well
done boys.

Brandon Lads 0
Brandon started the game brightly and it looked
like they were going to have a feast of goals but small
errors cost them, along with some sloppy play. They
did not get going at all in the first half and they missed
nine chances, yes nine, with at least six you would put
your house on. They also had two stone wall
penalties for handball waved away.
The Lads were a bit disappointed in the result and again
the 'over the top' ball caused problems. Brandon
gave away too much room and we did not knock the ball
about enough but they are still learning the game and no
doubt they will get back to their best next week.

Brandon Lads 4
Downham Market 3
Brandon could not get their
game going despite how much they tried. Even after
a well taken free kick from Greeny hit the back of the
net Brandon still faultered.
After a few chats between the Lads at half time they
went at Downham from the off. Substitute Preston
found the net to make it 2-0. Next Nath slotted
home to make it three, all in the space of ten minutes.
Then Brandon seemed to switch off and Downham
scored direct from a corner. They conceded another
after they were unable to clear their lines and a
rebound of a home player fell into the path of a
Downham striker to score. Brandon looked
worried but a deflected shot from Veccaro hit the back
of Downham's net to ease the pressure 4-2.
Brandon were caught yet again, Harrison saved well but
the ball was picked up by an oncomming Downham
player who slotted home, but the home side held on to
win. The pitch was narrow and made play a bit
tight and Downham played over the top which Brandon
struggled with. They say a team which plays badly
and wins are a good team, well done Lads.

Brandon Lads 3 Reffley

Had Brandon converted their chances then they should have
scored a lot more goals. They hit the post
twice, had a good goal ruled out and totally
domminated the first half and most of the second
half. They showed great team play with their hard
work and created chance after chance. They
did get on the scoresheet though with two goals from J
Green and a shot from Bennie found the back of the net.
Yet again the Lads showed great skill and determination,
with their keeper being redundent through most of the
game, which was also down to his back three who were solid
as a rock, and when he was called upon he was quick on his
feet. A great display from the Lads, keep it
going.

Brandon Lads 4
Mundford 4
This was always going to be
a tight game with Brandon chasing the points to get them
up the table. Brandon opened the scoring and
looked the better side, but the hard games they
have played recently they did look tired. Mundford
came into the game toward the end of the half to make
the score 4-3 to Brandon.
There was only one goal in the second half, which made
for a tense match. Brandon had their chances
but could not claim the victory. The lads again
looked good playing the ball around and a mention
for the subs who came on and added strength. Well
done lads.

Brandon 1 Wootons 1
(Brandon win 3-2 pens)
Brandon started the game with steely determination and
were hungry to put last week's game behind them and they
had at least six chances in the first half in what was a
good clean game. Wootons had their chances too and only
brave goalkeeping from Brandon, and players chucking
themselves in front of the ball stopped the visitors with
the
play going from end to end. Brandon just could not
finish and the Wootons' keeper was stopping
everything, sadly it went to penalties.
Harrison was superb in goal for Brandon and saved three
penalties and it then fell to Josh to score the decider,
which he hit it to the keeper's right and although it hit
the post it did trickle in. The lads reacted like
they had just won the cup and it was down to the sheer
determination, hard work and great team spirit that pulled
the Lads through. Managers Paul and Scott were over
the moon for the players and made MoMs Chas and Harrison,
in fact the whole team deserve it.

Brandon 0
Swaffham 7
To look at the score you
would think that the boys were out played but football
can be a cruel game. Brandon faced the best
team in the league and the gave them plenty to
think about with three shots on goal to Swaffham's one
in the first fifteen minutes. The back three coped
well and the play was end to end with some fine Brandon
tackling, but the lads could not get their shots on
target and when Brandon started to take hold of the game
tragedy struck. Swaffham floated a ball in, the
home keeper failed to call for the ball resulting in a
mix-up with the full back which saw the ball deflected
in for an own goal. Brandon seemed to loose heart
and looked nervous which made hard going and as
they surged forward they left gaps at the back which
Swaffham expoited. At half time the score was at
0-3 and Brandon felt it was not a true reflection of
their performance.
Well done to the refferee who should be praised for
teaching the lads to respect the rules and Brandon will
hope to get back on track next week. Every
week they learn a little more and always find a positive
from each match.

Brandon Lads 1
Brandon pushed Wootons all the way to the end,
looking for goals and came close a few times. The
weather and the pitch did not help the Lads and it was
only their hard work that earned them the points, along
with a great save at the end from Brandon's in-form
keeper Harrison. Ollie used the ball well for
Brandon in the middle of the pitch and sprayed the
ball around as well as he could in the conditions.
Joe worked the wing well with Nath harrasing the back
four. Sheppy and Josh charging down any loose
balls in and around the box and with the back three
defending well, Paul in his second game played calmly and
with confidence. There was some good work from Chas
down the wing and he made the cross which was
deflected into the net from a defender for the winning own
goal. A big thanks to our substitutes who came
on at the end and worked hard. Brandon now look like
a team who believe in themselves, well done lads and keep
it going.

Brandon Lads 5
West Winch 1
Brandon again started slowly and
never really got their passing game going. In the
first half, even after Josh Green scored, the boys
still looked a bit edgy and were making the odd mistake.
It took another good strike from Josh to find the back
of the net to calm them down
In the second half Brandon came out a different side,
passing the ball around well and making good moves. Green
knocked in a great ball for Ollie to head into the net. Now
the Lads started to play, with Green being
unselfish in front of goal when Bennie ran on to the
ball but was just beaten by the keeper. Green
scored again from a great free kick, then a carbon copy
cross to find Ollie steering the header into the roof of
the net. A special note to Paul who started his
first game, with the effort and commitment shown it wont
be his last, and also to Preston who battled hard and
impressed with his determination. Mentions also to
Shaun and Nathan who just never stops and well done to
everyone!

Brandon Lads 1 Hungate
1
From the start of the game it looked like Brandon would do
well judging by the home support with supporters clapping
at the way in which the Lads played. J Green headed
the ball bravely from close range to score, even after
getting a kick to the face. S Sheppard had good
efforts on goal with Ollie also testing from range.
Young Nath as ever was harrasing the visitor's back
four but Brandon could not find a way to goal. Then
after some sloppy play Hungate scored which shook the Lads
after all their hard work. Brandon didn't panic into
making substitutions too early and when they went on they
played really well as did Brandon's back three, who were
solid with the odd scare, and also Brandon's keeper, who is
getting better every week. The stop-start season
regarding games being called off is upsetting the flow for
the boys and hopefully games will start to be more
consistant for them. Lastly it was nice to have
Ollie back in the squad who had a good debut and showed
great commitment.

Brandon 8 Heacham 1
Brandon got off to a great start putting the visitors
under pressure from the start whistle with their passing
and battling hard for possesion. The movement and
team work was first class and was a joy to watch as they
employed the 3-4-3 formation. They soon opened the
visitor's defence and gave them plenty to do. Sam
Sheppard, in his new position opened the scoring and would
be on the score sheet five times by the end of the match.
Some unselfish play from Nathan saw J Vecarro slot
home from close range to make it six, followed by a great
header from Nathan who worked his socks off all day
and supplied some of the goals. Then Josh Green
smashed home Brandon's eighth goal. Heacham did
reply with a well taken consolation and their goalkeeper
had an outstanding second half. A mention also
for the Brandon midfield four who battled and played
superbly, also to the back three who enjoyed a solid
game, 'keeper Harrison pulled off some good
saves when Heachm had chances and to the three subs
who came on to steady the game. A mention for the
referee who kept the game fair and made sound decisions.

Brandon were back to their
old selves, playing as a team with good movement across
the pitch. Josh Green was on top form with six
goals, and played in the middle of a front three.
Josh Vercarro following up a shot slotted home for one
goal from inside the box. Sheppy had a long range
shot hit the back of the net and Joe was on target with
a great shot. Webby came from out of nowhere
hit a great left foot volley into the net and a
mention for Nathen who worked his socks of like he does
every week and created chances and caused the
visitors many problems. Brandon's back three were
rarely troubled in what was a first class performance.

Brandon were two goals up in three minutes, and
were running Mundford ragged, but then they stopped
their good play, maybe thinking the game was won. A
free kick from Mundford got them back into the game, and
soon Brandon found themselves trailing 2-3. It
didn't seem to be happening for Brandon, including some
pivotal desicions which cost Brandon dearly and led
to two Mundford goals. Brandon did play some
fine passing football which if they keep it up will reap
benefits. BRandon's goal scorers were Sheppy,
Webby, Joe, Reccaro and a good display from Harrison in
goal.

Brandon came off the pitch at half time three-nil
down, and were disappointed that the chances they had were
not converted into goals.
After the break Brandon got a bit lost but still
found in-roads into the Swaffham area sadly they still
could not find the net. They gave the game to
Swaffham with some bad marking when their good form seemed
to have left them and they will look at the chances they
missed in the first half. Brandon's highlights
were their fine workrate and great team spirit and
each player came off looking forward to their next match.

The Brandon
Lads U12 squad seem to be going through a bad patch
at the moment and the nice flowing football that they
enjoyed earlier in the season seems to have deserted them
but they did manage to go into half time three goals
to two.
Brandon will feel grieved that some referring decisions
did not go their way which cost them dearly.
Having said that, Brandon know that they need to get their
game back on track. Brandon's goals came from Chas
(2), Josh and Nathan.

Brandon Lads 1 Wootons
2
A wet day, and a bad day for Brandon. They
just could not get into the game and struggled to take
command and with Wootons pushing the Brandon back
four. The home team were under pressure and not
at there best and went down by a goal before half time.
The second half brought a better performance by Brandon,
but they still could not find the form they had enjoyed in
previous matches. Wootons, with the run of play,
scored a second goal and with ten minutes left to play
Brandon came to life. Nathan Wright scored for
Brandon after a particularly good spell, battling for
every ball, and they now pushed forward looking for
another goal and to salvage a league point, but alas they
could not find it. A special mention for Bennie,
who got Brandon moving the ball better after he came on.

Hungate 4 Brandon Lads

Brandon got off to a flying start, playing some good crisp
passing football with good movement. Josh and
Nathan Wright for Brandon troubled the home team's
defence, with Brandon sending wave after wave of
attack down the flanks for Joe and 'Shep' to send crosses
into the path of the srikers. Josh opened the
scoring for Brandon, smashing the ball into the net and
Brandon continued to dominate. By half time
Brandon were 4-0 ahead, with all goals scored by Josh.
In the second half Brandon has the wind against them and
Hungate got back into the game, putting pressure on the
Brandon 'keeper to score their first. Josh soon
replied for the visitors. Hungate threw caution to
the wind, going for the long ball into the area, and
this seemed to work and they pulled back to 3-5.
The game became tense for Brandon, but their nerves
were eased after a Nathan Wright goal. Hungate
scored another, but again Josh replied for his sixth of
the match. A great performance from Man of the Match
Josh, with Jack and Chas great for Brandon at the back.

Heacham 3 Brandon Lads

Brandon got off to a good start with a goal coming
from Nathan Wright in the first ten minutes, but they
found it hard to get their passing going and it
showed as they could not take command of the game.
The home side started off well enough too, scoring twice,
and this seemed to prompt Brandon back into the match and they
nabbed the equalizer with a shot from Joe Keane flying
past the 'keeper's right hand side after good play from
Nathan Wright. With this, Brandon started to show a
little bit of the team play that they had shown the week
before and started to attack the goal but could not get
through.
Brandon composed themselves after the break and attacked
from the whistle. Their passing picked up and Nathan
Wright got his second. Darren 'Bennie' Saunders came
on and showed his great feet and passing skills to get
Brandon their fourth goal. This boosted their
confidence and they scored again through substitute
Alex Hayward-Jones. Heacham pulled one back and Brandon
replied with their sixth goal from Nathan Wright, for his
hatrick. A special mention for Jack Norton, who again
was outstanding in defence, to earn himself man of
the match. Well done Lads.

Brandon 4 Dersingham 5
Brandon lost a game they could, and should, have won. They
started off brightly with crisp attacking football,
playing wide for Joe to send a driven low ball across the
box to be turned into the net by the visitors.
Brandon's second came from the same play with a goal from
Gerrard in midfield. Then Brandon suffered from
errors and Dersingham grabbed two goals back.
With Brandon's heads dropped their crisp play changed to
pin-ball football and they went into half time 2-4 down.
After the break Brandon came out fighting and returned
to some good team work, with a passing move leading
to a shot from Rhys Hersee which the 'keeper could not
hold and Gerrard slid in to make sure. Dersingham
scored their fifth and Brandon fought harder, again with a
Gerrard strikes for his hatrick. With only a
goal in it Brandon pinned the visitors back but could not
break through. Brandon came off the pitch proud
at the way they battled and it was great to watch,
with lessons learned big applause to jack who was
fantastic and gedi keep scoring.

Brandon 13 Dereham 0
A good start
to the season for Brandon, with a one-sided match ending
13-0 to Brandon. Some good movement andf
passing made the home side's game fly along and
Brandon gelled together well with their good
attitude. The goals came from Sam
'Shep' Sheppard up front, with four, Nathan Wright got
three. The home team's midfield players were
also on target, with Rhys Hersee getting two, Garrod two
and Josh 'Tiger' Green smashed in two as
well. A mention for Bennie, who came on as
substitute and played some great touch football, twice
being denied by the visiting 'keeper after some great ball
work and Shaun who controlled the back line well. A
mention for the visiting Dereham who deserve credit for
battling to the end and never let their heads drop.
