Saturday Soccer Club

Thanks to 3Q Sports for
donating training bibs for our youngsters to use during Saturday
Soccer Club sessions.
April 9th 2005
The
Brandon Lads & Lasses Saturday soccer club is still going
strong, now in its second year, around 25 to 30 children between
the ages of 5 and 7 are attending regularly on Saturday mornings.
The
idea of this Saturday club is still to try and introduce young
children into the sport, and then hopefully have them stay with
the club and progress into a competitive team when they reach the
correct age. We have at present three groups of players, with Mick
Miller coaching the oldest group of players (school year 2), they
will now be concentrating on becoming next season's under 8 squad,
and will be looking to play some friendly matches with other teams
of their age. Lee Russell has the coaching job of the next group
of players (school year 1), these players will hopefully have
another season of coaching with us before they move up to become
our oldest group. Kevin Briston will stay and coach the new input
of children (reception class) along with any other new
players who come along and who have never played football before.
We will never turn anyone away, whatever their ability, we will
always try and find the best possible coaching system for any
player.
All
sessions are open to both boys and girls, and they take place at
Forest Community School, Brandon on Saturday mornings. School year
2 start at 10-30 till 11-30, school year 1 and reception start at
11-30 till 12-30.
